Identified from intial search terms outside of OpenCodelists: "throat" "pharyngitis" "tonsil" "laryngitis"
Clearly irrelevant codes excluded (with review by a second clinician)
Candidate codelist uploaded to OpenCodelists for review of candidate codes.
Excluded conditions with terms suggesting a causes for throat pain, e.g., vesicular, atrophic or suppurative tonsillitis/pharyngitis/laryngitis, or laryngitis due to gastro-oesophageal reflux.
Excluded terms indicating disease, disorder or enlargement (but not necessarily pain) of throat structures (e.g., hypertrophy or hyperplasia of tonsils/pharynx/etc).
