About

Description

This lists contains codes used to identify people who may have had diabetes ketoacidosis (DKA). This list was conceived to identify DKA in a specific group of patients in a specific time period, therefore we have been permissive in including unspecific codes which may not be suitable for all studies.

Methodology

Using the OpenCodelists builder we used search terms

  • dka
  • ketoacidosis
  • acidosis

Further discussion about further inclusion and exclusion can be seen in GitHub.

Codelists are developed by a broad community of users for individual study purposes, which may or may not meet the needs of other studies. They should not be thought of as universal definitions of a particular condition.

We don't offer any guarantees about what they do or don't identify. Users should carefully check that any codelist meets their needs, and seek clinical input where appropriate.
